Kopester IDO (Isodecyl Oleate) is a light emollient ester, originating from palm oil, that touts fast absorbency and a non-oily feel. This emollient has a medium spreading ability and is a light transparent liquid with characteristic odor & low viscosity. It is produced through our biotransformation process, which is a natural enzymatic process that reduces energy requirements, leaves minimal waste/effluent, and eliminates the need for solvents.
Isodecyl oleate is an important skin conditioning agent derived from the esterification of oleic acid and Isodecanol. This is an excellent light-weight emollient, in which, when applied on skin, provides a non-oily, light feel. Kopester IDO also works great for makeup removal, as it leaves less residue than benchmark brands, making it great to use in makeup removal cream formulations. Additionally, it is an excellent shine-enhancing agent for hair care products. We have developed and tested a number of successful formulations in our laboratories using Kopester IDO, such as hair serum, lip balm, makeup remover, light day cream & hair oil.
